HOW TO FIGHT THE PHONY SOCIAL SECURITY "CRISIS"
Protect Social Security

  • Read this Social Security Packet and use it for the following actions:
  • Talk to your family and friends about it.
  • Make five copies and send them to friends and relatives (including grandchildren) in other states; direct them to the Coalition website for the packet and other material.
  • Write letters to your local newspaper.
  • Write op-eds for your newspaper.
  • Participate in call-in shows.
  • Make copies of all or parts of the Social Security Packet and distribute them at meetings, rallies, and wherever interested people gather. (Remember Social Security is everybody's issue, not just today's seniors.)
  • Write letters to your Congress Member, U.S. Senators, and the
President of the United States telling them that Social Security does not need saving--even pessimistic estimates by the SS Trustees project Fund surpluses until 2041. It is prudent to postpone changes until we see our economic growth experience over the next few decades [see Introduction to the packet--http://www.njfac.org/SSpkt.htm].

For Washington and local Congressional offices, email addresses:
http://www.webslingerz.com/jhoffman/congress-email.html
http://www.house.gov/ for Wash and local offices.
http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/

  • Visit your Member of Congress and your two U.S. Senators, if possible with other concerned citizens, including clergy, labor, educators, etc. Urge them not to vote for privatization measures.
  • Hold a Town Hall Meeting or Public Forum at your local church, synagogue, college, or senior center and get material into their newsletters.
  • Hold a local press conference

If you do any of these actions or are interested in participating in them, please contact the NJFAC office at 212-972-9877 (tel.) or njfac@njfac.org
